|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every 3 weeks that begins at 9:30 am on Thursday, repeating until April 15, 2021

Marine Resources Council and the City of Melbourne are teaming up to bring you Virtual Field Trips!

Join us every third Thursday at 9:30 a.m. through April as we live stream outdoors! Attendees are immersed in our local natural areas while learning about science, history, and conservation.
Feb 18 – Among the Mangroves

Get ready to escape the classroom or your home by joining us on a virtual field trip to learn about one of Florida’s most amazing ecosystems, MANGROVES! This program will introduce you to the mangroves of Florida, how to ID each species, and why these trees are terrific. We will showcase our mangrove nursery, discuss restoration, and then plant a mangrove on the MRCs shoreline. Sign up today to join us on our mangrove adventure!

The seminar will end with a live Q&A session, but we also recommend that participants please email any questions they might have that relate to this topic to the MRC’s Nicole Broquet at nicole@mrcirl.org by Wednesday, February 17.

This is a free virtual event, but you must register to receive the Zoom link and login information. If you are unable to register, we will be live streaming the event through the MRC’s Facebook page!
