DESCRIPTION:Join the League of Women Voters for this unique travel experience. No membership required\, though you may want to become a member. \nJOIN US as we will paddle the pristine rivers that make up the Blackwater River State Forest. When combined with its neighbors the Conecuh National Forest and Eglin Air Force Base Preserve\, you have the world’s largest long leaf pine forest. This ancient forest is home to many rare species\, including the Red-cockaded Woodpecker\, Pitcher Plants\, and Gopher Tortoises\, just to name a few. \nEach day we will paddle a different creek or river section and enjoy a riverside picnic lunch. We will then return to our lovely private lodge which is the historic Old Schoolhouse Inn for sunset happy hour\, an amazing dinner\, and some free time for exploring. SUMMARY:How can unmanned systems support the IRL?
DESCRIPTION:Join MRC and the AUVSI Space Coast Chapter for an educational & social mixer on how unmanned systems can be utilized in the effort to save and protect the Indian River Lagoon. \nFee: Free \nThis event will include light food and refreshment followed by presentations from three speakers and a drone demonstration. Details below: \nMRC Executive Director Dr. Leesa Souto Ph. D. will speak on the current health report of the Indian River Lagoon and present the question\, “Will the local unmanned systems technology industries help save our lagoon?”  \nAUVSI Space Coast Satellite Chapter President Todd Hillhouse will present on the use of unmanned systems technology to collect data in support of lagoon restoration and wildlife conservation efforts. \nNexutech\, LLC. Senior Vice President John Lambert will lead an interactive discussion of event attendees\, with the goal of establishing programs and processes to mobilize local unmanned systems resources (both aircraft and surface vehicles) to support MRC lagoon science and restoration efforts.
