SUMMARY:Getting started with Aquaponics
DESCRIPTION:Introduction to aquaponics: how fish\, plants\, bacteria\, and system components work together to grow food. \n\n\n\n\nThis introductory course on aquaponics teaches the fundamentals of a sustainable food production method that combines aquaculture (raising fish) with hydroponics (growing plants without soil). Participants will learn how aquaponic systems work\, explore the key components of a successful system\, and understand the nitrogen cycle that connects fish\, beneficial bacteria\, and plant growth. The class will also cover common fish and plant species used in aquaponics and provide practical insight into selecting and maintaining a balanced\, productive system. Perfect for beginners\, this course offers a solid foundation for anyone interested in growing fresh food through aquaponics. \n\n\n\n\nGetting started with aquaponics \nJoin us to learn the basics of Aquaponics. Learn all about what you need to know and what supplies you need for your own system. \nDate: Saturday\, November 7th\, 2026 \nTime: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM \nLocation: UF/IFAS Extension – Brevard County\, 3695 Lake Dr.\, Cocoa\, FL 32926
