SUMMARY:Rain Barrel Workshop
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to join the Marine Resources Council (MRC) & Rockledge Gardens to learn the benefits of collecting rain water from your roof\, & how to construct your very own water saving rain barrel. \nRSVP at https://rainbarrelws.eventbrite.com/?aff=cal. \nPresentation is free and open to the public\, attendees must RSVP. Workshop includes introduction to the MRC\, a dialogue of how rain barrels can help save the Indian River Lagoon\, and a demonstration on how to build a rain barrel. *Rain Barrel Workshop attendees can register to build and take home their very own water saving barrel at the event\, for a $55.00 fee. (Fee includes all materials\, tools\, and assistance needed for rain barrel assembly.) \nThe use of rain barrels will conserve water\, save money by reducing the use of potable water in landscapes\, and reduce stormwater runoff by storing and diverting runoff from impervious surfaces (like driveways). One barrel used properly can prevent 50\,000 gallons of polluted storm water from entering our lagoon! Do your part\, help save our lagoon by installing a rain barrel at your house. Sign up now! \nIf you live in Melboune City you are eligable for a $50 mail in rebate. For rebate details please visit https://www.melbourneflorida.org/departments/public-works-utilities/environmental-community-outreach/rain-barrel-rebate. \nFor more event information please contact Nicole\, at nicole@mrcirl.org or call 321-725-7775.
