For Realtors
OUR COMMUNITY VALUES OUR LAGOON
If you have just moved here, you already know you have come to a place of extreme beauty and breathtaking nature. But there is a lot to learn about living near the abundant waters in Brevard County, Florida.
This effort, of the Brevard Indian River Lagoon Coalition, in association with the Space Coast Association of Realtors, can help you better understand the Indian River Lagoon, its value and its significance from the start of your life here.
As a homeowner, we know you will want to preserve the beauty and the value of our natural assets. We hope these tips and things you can do in your yard, in your neighborhood, in your town will be a welcome resource.
CONTINUING WORK
In 2016, a referendum to fund Indian River Lagoon improvements was passed by Brevard voters. The 10-year Save Our Indian River Lagoon Project Plan outlines and funds local projects designed to meet water quality targets and improve the health of the Lagoon. It includes fertilizer education, muck removal, reclaimed water use, restoration of mangroves, oyster reefs and wetlands, septic system upgrades, and stormwater and wastewater facility improvements. Measures underway are already having a positive impact on the Lagoon.
CALLING ALL REALTORS
FOR REALTORS
We wanted to arm our professional Realtors with information they could share with newcomers and other homeowners. We wanted it to be valuable in the conversations our professionals have with the people who may soon become our friends and neighbors.
We created a special information-filled brochure and made it available at the Space Coast Association of Realtors.
