Lineup for the 3 mile March begins 8:30 am at The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Public Library, 955 E. University Boulevard. March kicks off at 9:30 am and proceeds to the Melbourne Civic Auditorium, 625 E. Hibiscus Street.

Dr. Martin L. King, Jr., Coalition’s 2018 Highlights for Honoring The Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Coalition Of Melbourne, FL Wishes To Announce Activities Planned To Honor Dr. King.
The Theme on the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Coalition, Inc. Tee Shirts this year is “Breaking The Silence: Beyond The Dream”, “Let’s Rise Up”. Interfaith programs are calling on people from all walks of life to “RISE UP” and speak out on the injustices facing the world; just as Dr. King did 50 years ago at The Riverside in New York. Breaking the Silence will deliver a universal call to action to “love thy neighbor.”
The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Memorial Program will be Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 2729 Lipscomb Street in Melbourne, FL. Our Speaker for this program will be Rev. Lorenzo Laws, Pastor of Greater Allen Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church of Melbourne, FL. The program will start promptly at 6:00pm.
On Monday, January 15, 2018, At The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Public Library, 955 E. University Boulevard, We Will Begin Our 3 Mile March/Parade, that will kick off at 9:30 am. (We will start lining up at 8:30 am). We will continue to the Melbourne Civic Auditorium, 625 E. Hibiscus Street and culminate with a program planned by the coalition inside of the auditorium. The program in the auditorium will start at 11:30am. There will be singing, praise dancing and Mime by our youths from the community. We will also have a very outstanding young lady bring a short inspirational message.
The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Coalition’s will once again allow participation of those who would like to continue walking and also allow motorized vehicles to be included to provide transportation for those who are now unable to walk. We would like for all Churches, Schools, Business and organizations to participate in this parade. We also ask that if an organization or church provide a motorized vehicle to please ask their members to ride on that vehicle. The deadline for submitting information if you will be having a motorized vehicle is January 14, 2018.
