Living Shorelines for a Sustainable Future with Ms. Caity Savoia

July 7, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Brown Bag Lunch Seminar
Zoom Webinar
Tuesday, July 7th, 2020
12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Join us for our Virtual Brown Bag Seminar, “Living Shorelines for a Sustainable Future” with the MRC’s own Ms. Caity Savoia! Traditional coastal development methods, such as shoreline hardening, have had unintended consequences on lagoon health and have proven to be costly in terms of maintenance, water quality, and wildlife habitat. Living shoreline restoration offers a more sustainable and cost effective option for waterfront property owners to decrease erosion, restore their shorelines, enhance wildlife habitat, and ultimately help improve the health of our Indian River Lagoon! Caity Savoia will present on the current living shoreline projects at the Marine Resources Council (MRC) and how you can get involved to help!
The seminar will end with a live Q&A session, but we also recommend that participants to please email any questions you might have about living shorelines or shoreline restoration to the MRC’s Nicole Broquet at [email protected] by July 6th.
This is a free virtual event, but you must register to receive the zoom linkand login information. If you are unable to register, we will be live streaming it through the MRC’s Facebook page!
