ICYMI: We’re extremely grateful to report that Governor DeSantis officially vetoed Senate Bill 2508 on Wednesday. And although that act was the final nail in the coffin for this bad water bill, it certainly wasn’t the only thing that helped bury this threat to clean water. It was one of thousands of acts that added up to take down the Goliath.
This historic culmination was the result of tens of thousands of people standing up together for a collective effort, each contributing their part—big or small. As is the case with most monumental endeavors, every piece of the puzzle was critical, every voice was important.
Just like with Carter Andrews’ #OnePieceADay initiative or Capt. Tom Rowland’s recent 10K Pushup Challenge in support of clean water, it often takes a collection of individuals doing their part to achieve a common goal.
A piece of trash here, a pushup or two there—seemingly small acts can add up, snowballing into a force that’s capable of creating real change, change like the veto of SB 2508.
