(TCPalm.com, 7/29/20) Tyler Treadway, environmental reporter for the Indian River Lagoon reports “The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday approved the 2020 version of the Water Resources and Development Act, a list of federal water projects including several to help clean up the St. Lucie and Caloosahatchee rivers and Indian River Lagoon. A similar bill is working its way through the Senate. Both chambers will have to agree on the legislation before it is sent to the White House for President Donald Trump’s signature.” The article continues with provisions within the water bill which affect South Florida, such as Lake Okeechobee discharges.
