Laurilee Thompson to Speak at Turtle Coast Sierra Club Meeting

Presentation by Laurilee Thompson (Dixie Crossroads) talking about protecting the Indian River Lagoon.

The Indian River Lagoon (IRL) is a national treasure. Considered one of the most biologically diverse estuaries in North America, its mangrove wetlands and salt marshes provide breeding, nursery and feeding areas for a variety of organisms. From youthful days spent commercially fishing on the IRL, to an activist’s role sixty years later, Laurilee Thompson has lived through the IRL’s best and worst times. Come and hear her story.
