Save Our Indian River Lagoon Project Plan

The Save Our Indian River Lagoon (SOIRL) Project Plan describes the problems our lagoon had, the causes and how we will Heal the Lagoon. It outlines local projects completed, underway and planned to meet water quality targets; restore its health, aesthetic appeal, and economic value.

The 2024 Plan Update provides details on the 432 projects that make up the plan. Once completed, they will reduce and remove 1.5 Million pounds of nitrogen pollution and 125.000 pounds of phosphorus pollution annually from the Indian River Lagoon.

View Septic Improvements on the Map

The SOIRL Program has has a set of maps that show areas where septic improvements (and in some cases grants) are scheduled. To show the overlay of areas required to use advanced septic, open the tab named “Layer” and then check the “Indian River Lagoon” box. The sliding bar will adjust the transparency so that you can see the property underlying the overlay boundaries.Click hear to view the Project Maps
