(Sierra Club/July 2021) A report by the Sierra Club and the Ecology Center found PFAS chemicals, or “biosolids” in the ingredients of 9 fertilizers sold by more than 30 companies. These sludge-based fertilizers and composts for home use contain “forever chemicals” that don’t break down in the environment and are highly toxic to people and waterways.
